About

Inspired by travel, classic Americana, and the elegant, powerful women captured in the photographs of Richard Avedon and Helmut Newton, the AMYCLAIRE aesthetic is chic, modern, and inherently feminine.

The company was formed in 2010 by California native, Amy Claire McCormick Vokey, and has since earned itself a loyal fan-base of women from around the globe. Through the use of luxury fabrics and thoughtful tailoring, the collection has become known for its quality and fit. With an importance placed on the integrity of the production that goes into each garment, the entire collection is produced in New York City’s garment district.

Amy’s interest in fashion began at a young age when she first started experimenting with designing and creating her own clothing. This love for fashion never went away, leading eventually to her first professional foray into the industry- not as a designer, but as a fashion photographer. Studying for some time in Italy, she became completely enraptured with the culture, eventually inspiring her to put down the camera and begin draping her own collection.

Since the brand’s inception, Amy has put an emphasis on the importance of the relationship between fashion and art. Collaborating each season with a different artist to develop original prints, Amy has recently worked with Happy Menocal (Fall 2011) and Stevie Howell (Spring2012) to create exclusive designs for her collections.

Amy currently resides in Brooklyn, and continues to create her namesake label out of a studio in New York City’s Garment District.
